School - internal certificates according to the CEFL (Common European Framework of Languages) are an additional feature to the IB German language B programm and first steps to offer the official DSD (Deutsches Sprachdiplom - German Language Diplom) by the Secretariat of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs (KMK) through the ZfA. - Zentralstelle für das Auslandsschulwesen) at the MBIS in future. The required examinations for the A1 and A2 level for the CEFL can be included into IB class assessments, so the students in most cases do not have to take an additional exam but do receive the additional certificate. Monday, 14th of June Pune has a long history of precense of German culture. So lets discover it ... ! As a part of the DP Language B excursion day, German B students from DP 1 and MYP 5 will be searching together with German learners from the Modern College for "German traces in Pune." After meeting in school, the students will drive with a school transport to the Mercedes Benz plant in Chakan.They will have time to interview a representative on their excursion topic. The school bus will then drop the students on the half of the way to the city centre, from where they will have to discover in groups further traces and document them with pictures. Ideas will be provided by the teacher and the students can meet interview partners at the Max Mueller Bhavan and DAAD office in Pune during a certain time frame. All groups will be meeting with the Language B French students in Flags (Sasson road) to try typical German dishes. The results will be presented and displayed during the week. Tuesday, 15th of June - Thursday, 24th of June Because of the high interest from many of the Language B German students from PYP to DP, in the Fifa World Cup 2010, the German room will be changed into the maybe only "German World Cup studio" in India. Lessons and projects until the end of the school year will focus on the one of the biggest international sport event of the world - of course with but not from a German perspective. Visitors and fans are invited anytime ... Monday, 21st of June As a part of the programm "German can make your career" Mrs. Hallacker, head representative of the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Office) office in Pune will visit next years Language B German students (now MYP 5 and DP 1) at MBIS. Between 8.35 and 10.00 am she will be presenting, discussing and answering questions about academic opportunies at German universities. (German room)
