Authorisation / Accreditation

The language of instruction for all students is English. Tuition in English as a second language is given when necessary as a standard feature of the programme. Throughout the school, Indian culture features frequently both within the subjects and through special activities.

  • The Pre school and PYP Years 1-5 teach the PYP which covers the full range of the normal primary curriculum and includes German from Year 2 to meet the foreign language requirement of the PYP.

  • MYP Years 1-5 ( Equivalent to Grades 6-10) teach the MYP which contains all the elements necessary for obtaining an internationally recognized certificate at the end of Year 5. MBIS also awards its own certificate.

  • Courses in the MYP are offered in English , a second language ( German or French), Humanities ( History and Geography) Science ( General Science in MYP Years 1 and 2; separate Biology, Chemistry and Physics in Years 3 – 5), Mathematics, Arts ( Performing and Visual), Physical education and     information technology.

  • In addition to the individual subjects , five central themes –Approaches to learning; Health and Social Education ; Homo Faber (“ Man the Maker’’); Environment and Community Service are an integral part of the MYP course.

  • Students joining late (in MYP 4 or 5) are eligible for the MYP Record of Achievement and the Portfolio of Achievement even though they may not be eligible for an MYP certificate.
