How it works

Security:
The MBIS Hostel has employed an independent security service which provides a 24 hour guard at the hostel. This security is over and above  the attendants employed by MBIS.

Electrical Power:
The entire MBIS Hostel complex has been fitted with back-up power in the form of invertors to ensure electric supply at all times.

Medical Aid:
First aid is available in the hostel complex. For more detailed medical aid MBIS has made arrangements with Dr. Purohit’s clinic where children will be taken as and when required. Dr. Purohit will however, visits hostel at 7.00 a.m. on every Wednesday. Arrangement for any medical emergency has also been made with Aditya Birla Hospital.

Parents are requested to keep the hostel informed of any medical history of their children, as also of any allergies that the child may have. This information will help to avoid complications in the future.

Laundry
In addition to a daily laundry service, the hostel has a washing machine and an iron, to cater for delicate garments and emergency requirements. The washing machine will be operated by the hostel staff as and when required.

The laundry service will be available on a daily basis. Children are expected to hand over their soiled clothes before they leave for school. These will be laundered and returned the next day. Bed linen and towels will be changed and laundered under hostel arrangements twice a week. It will be the responsibility of parents to ensure that all items of personal clothing are marked for easy identification.

Telephone
Two telephones have been installed in the MBIS Hostel. The numbers are (020) 27261839 and 27261840. For any changes in the telephone number it is advisable to check from the school telephone EPABX exchange(020-22934420/30). The telephones provided in the hostel will be used mainly for incoming calls from parents/local guardians. Parents are requested to call their children only on Wednesdays between 5.00 p.m. and 7.15 p.m., except in an emergency.

Visitors
Guardians, relatives and friends will not be permitted to visit the student unless they have a letter of authorization from the parent/s and permission from the Head Hostel. No Guardian/Parent is allowed access to rooms/dormitory.

Boarding house address & location
The boarding house is located within the MBIS complex at MIDC Phase I, IT Park, Hinjewadi, Pune-411057.

Before arrival
Do not bring more than one small suitcase of personal belongings. The student joining the hostel will be provided with the suggested list of items to be brought for a comfortable stay at the hostel. Pune has a mild climate throughout the year, with the three basic seasons of winter, summer and  monsoons. The students are expected to wear a school uniform (MBIS T-Shirt) on all working days, as such the requirement of private clothes is limited. Each student may bring a few casual outfits and a formal outfit (for school functions/outings.)

Hostel vehicle
A vehicle is dedicated to the hostel and is available at all times to cater for student outings from the hostel and during emergencies.
