Community service
Community service extends beyond the classroom, requiring students to participate in the communities in which they live. The emphasis is on developing community awareness and concern, a sense of responsibility, and the skills needed to make an effective contribution to society.
The Community Service Handbook will provide more information on this Area of Interaction.

The Community and Service programme of the MBIS is both dynamic and responsive. In keeping with the philosophy of the I.B., the school requires students to participate in Community and Service activities throughout the year. Students are encouraged to develop a commitment to the various activities in which they involve themselves and are expected to do a minimum of 30 hours of Community and Service every year.
