About the PYP

The PYP begins in the preschool where the children are aged between two to six years and continues with year 1 to year 5 for students six to eleven years of age.

Inquiry is the leading pedagogical approach of the PYP. The PYP is based on the principle that children learn by using their previous experience to make sense of new information.

In the PYP a balance is sought between acquisition of essential knowledge and skills, development of conceptual understanding, demonstration of positive attributes of the IB learner profile.

The skills and attributes learnt in PYP provide the children with a firm platform to move on to the MYP in MBIS or to other schoo systems around the world.
