Mercedes-Benz Education Academy (MBEA) was founded in December 1997 with the purpose of establishing Mercedes-Benz International School for the children of expatriate and local parents who required an international education.
MBEA is registered as a trust and a society / charity and is not for profit. The MBEA Managing Committee (Board of Trustees) consists of the representatives of several prominent multi-national companies. Currently these companies include Mercedes-Benz India Pvt. Ltd., S.M. Auto Engineering Ltd. and Volkswagen India Private Ltd. and an educational consultant. The School Director is an ex-officio member of the Board. The Primary and Secondary Principals are permanent invitees to the Board. The PTA and Staff representatives are invited to attend all Board of Trustees meetings.
The project to set up Mercedes-Benz International School was initiated by Mercedes-Benz India Pvt. Ltd. and the school carries the Mercedes-Benz name. As such the Managing Director of MBIL serves as the President of MBEA. The Managing Committee (Board of Trustees) meets quarterly. Sub-Committees of the Board are the Executive Committee which also serves as a Finance Committee and the Education Committee.
Our Board of Trustees volunteer to provide direction in governance, strategy and fiduciary oversight. On the 22nd of January, our Board announced a significant change in membership with the addition of 5 new members from KC Mahindra Educational Trust (KCMET). The new trustees do not plan to make any material changes to the school’s organizational structure, curriculum or management, and that they are committed to maintaining the high educational and governance standards of the school.
The Director serves as the conduit between the school community and MBEA.
