It’s that time of year again… when the entire secondary school takes to the stage to enjoy winter songs in front of a sea of enthusiastic parents, students and staff.

Our choice of performances this year for the Winter concert is partly student driven and the elements of voice, choice and ownership as well as taking personal responsibility have been key to the design of this concert.  Students therefore have had the opportunity to develop their musical talent individually, in small collaborative groups or as an entire House group with House Captains leading the way. It was lovely to see the strong levels of audience participation in clapping and singing along to the songs, cheered on by the students.

Clearly we saved the best until last with our staff song where we all bounced onto stage and entertained the crowd with our harmonious tunes.  The spirit of MBIS came through loud and clear with community at the core.

The evening Recital took on a different feel with an outdoor ambience and aimed to showcase more solo performers, some of whom were recording for their DP examinations. The Recital featured invited guests only, mostly the parents of the performers in recognition of their support as a community to our Arts programme.

All in all, it was a very festive Friday which placed the Secondary school well and truly in the Christmas mood.
